T O O U R F R I E N D S A N D F A M I L Y After nearly 85 years in the world of retail, we have decided to sell our family-owned Home of Economy stores to Runnings — a leading home, farm, and outdoor store with Minnesota roots. As a fellow member of the Mid-States distribution cooperative, Runnings has a proven record of expertly serving its customers and we trust you will receive from them the same personal attention you came to know from us. Handoff will occur seamlessly later this year. Although this was a very difficult decision, we determined it is now time for the final chapter in the Home of Economy story. But, just as it is with any good book, you finish one story, then pick up another. As a result, we can now devote full attention to our other family business — The Amish Gallery. Furniture has been part of the Home of Economy legacy since the 1940s, evolving from a small in-store department to Home of Economy Home Furnishings and ultimately The Amish Gallery. This high-end furniture showroom has operated for many years inside our Grand Forks Home of Economy location and will soon move to its own retail space across town. There, we will continue to offer the beautiful heirloom furniture of top quality Amish brands like Country View Woodworking, Smith Brothers, and Kanyon, as well as other furniture lines — all made in the USA. The new address for The Amish Gallery will be announced soon and we hope to see you there. For now, we are deeply touched by the fond memories and warm wishes we continue to receive from friends, suppliers, and customers throughout the region. Home of Economy's storied success would not have happened without each and every one of you.
